Compensation: Base salary up to $173,000/year (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (No Weekends)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced NICU Director – Level III RN to lead a 99-bed Level III NICU with oversight of 150 FTEs and two managers. This leadership role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing unit operations, staffing, and budget management. The NICU Director fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and superior clinical outcomes while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a superior clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.

  • Manage daily operations including patient flow, admissions/discharges, and volume forecasting.

  • Lead interdisciplinary communication and collaboration across departments.

  • Oversee nursing practice, policies, procedures, and standards of care.

  • Provide leadership in delivering an exceptional patient and family experience.

  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

Licensure:

  • Current RN license in Texas (or compact state license).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Master’s Degree strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare leadership required.

  • Current Director-level NICU leadership experience highly preferred.

Certifications:

  • BLS required.

  • ACLS, NRP, FHM, RNC-OB preferred.

  • Level: III NICU

  • Beds: 99

  • Daily Census: ~75 patients

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 2–3:1

  • Shifts: Staff work 12-hour shifts

  • Leadership Coverage: Rotating call shared with 2 managers
