Director of Nursing Services - Women's Health & Labor & Delivery

Position Overview

As Director of Nursing Services, you will oversee all clinical operations, staff development, and quality initiatives within our Women's Health and Labor & Delivery units. This role combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership to ensure exceptional patient care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing clinical team while maintaining optimal staffing levels and skill mix
• Drive quality improvements through evidence-based practice implementation and outcomes monitoring
• Oversee departmental budget, resource allocation, and strategic planning initiatives
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accreditation standards
• Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures aligned with best practices
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and communication across departments
• Champion patient experience initiatives and family-centered care approaches
• Manage patient flow and capacity planning to optimize unit efficiency
• Lead quality improvement projects and monitor key performance indicators

Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in state of practice or compact license
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum 5 years L&D clinical experience
• 3+ years progressive leadership experience
• BLS certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
• RNC-OB certification
• NRP and FHM certifications
• ACLS certification
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
