The Director of Marketing and Business Development will play a critical role in supporting firm-wide Business Development and Marketing activities, in addition to supervising the Senior Marketing and Business Development Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of law firm, Intellectual Property (IP) experience, or professional services business development experience. They should be a proactive self-starter with a positive attitude, highly organized, ownership-driven, resourceful, and possess strong management skills. This position offers opportunities for face-to-face engagement and relationship-building with attorneys across the firm. Key Responsibilities: Develop a deep understanding of the firm's attorneys, clients, experience, and capabilities. Coordinate with attorneys to develop individual business development plans, schedule regular touchpoints, networking events, and meetings. Manage the CRM database, supervise data entry, and track all business development activities, including pre- and post-pitch efforts. Assist partners in managing their contacts, maintaining top-of-mind awareness with key contacts, and organizing ongoing efforts. Collaborate with senior partners to create client-facing materials such as pitches, presentations, and meeting materials. Maintain and track materials like pitches, proposals, lawyer profiles, and directory submissions. Evaluate ROI for all business development activities. Identify opportunities for thought leadership, marketing campaigns, and brand awareness initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field; IP experience is a plus. At least ten years of experience in Marketing or Business Development. Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, creative problem-solving, and sound judgment. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to interface with senior partners and management daily. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and manage workload. CRM experience required; ContactEase experience is advantageous. Hybrid work schedule (3 days on-site), salary $200K, bonus eligible.
