Director of Finance Pittsburgh, PA $90,000-$120,000 The Director of Finance serves as a strategic leader, responsible for managing the organization's financial health and human resources operations. This role oversees accounting, payroll, budgeting, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. The position requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment, balances multiple priorities, and maintains strict confidentiality. OVERVIEW OF THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE ROLE: Oversee accounting operations including AP/AR, billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Manage budgeting, audits, and general ledger accuracy in coordination with the CPA.
Administer payroll through ADP, ensuring accurate deductions, tax filings, and compliance.
Oversee employee benefits, open enrollment, and related communications.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and maintain accurate employee records in BambooHR.
Support performance management, employee relations, and policy compliance.
Ensure HR and financial practices meet state, federal, and licensing requirements.
Prepare financial and HR reports to support executive decision-making.
Handle employee credentialing, licensing, and agency audits.
Guide HR and finance strategies to align with organizational goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong background in nonprofit finance and HR functions.
Proficiency with QuickBooks, ADP, and HRIS platforms (BambooHR preferred).
SHRM certification strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Strong understanding of GAAP and HR compliance requirements.
