Position Overview
Were seeking an experiencedDirector of Fiber Maintenanceto oversee the long-term reliability, safety, and performance of our fiber-optic infrastructure. This is a senior leadership role for a hands-on, strategic operations leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, can lead technical teams, and understands the unique demands of fiber maintenance.

What Youll Do

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies to ensure uptime and performance.
• Collaborate across teams to plan upgrades, minimize downtime, and optimize network performance.
• Contribute to capital planning and budgeting for infrastructure maintenance.

Maintenance Oversight

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all fiber assets.
• Monitor performance metrics and establish KPIs for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance managers, coordinators, and technicians.
• Set departmental goals, review performance, and implement training programs.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Oversee contractors to ensure quality and SLA adherence.
• Negotiate contracts and regularly review vendor performance.

Risk & Incident Management

• Establish rapid-response protocols for outages, cuts, and weather-related incidents.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and network redundancy efforts.

Cross-Department Collaboration

• Partner with design, construction, and operations teams to align on timelines and needs.
• Provide executive-level reporting on maintenance activities and performance trends.

What Were Looking For

• 5+ years in fiber network operations, including 2+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong technical knowledge of fiber technology, splicing, testing, and fault resolution.
• Proven success managing field operations and technical teams.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• GIS and asset management tool experience a plus.
