This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, security, and compliance of patient health records, as well as managing departmental operations and staff. The ideal candidate will have expertise in health information management, regulatory compliance, and team leadership.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the daily operations of the HIM department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in medical records management.Ensure compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and Joint Commission standards.Manage and train HIM staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to enhance electronic health records (EHR) systems and workflows.Monitor and implement best practices in health information management, ensuring data integrity and security.Develop policies and procedures for record retention, release of information, and documentation standards.Requirements:Associates degree required (Health Information Management or a related field).RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) Certification required.Active registration with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).This position offers a competitive salary, leadership opportunities, and the chance to impact the efficiency and compliance of health information management in a dynamic healthcare setting.
