Overview

Tax Senior Manager or Director - T&E [Trust & Estate] role at CohnReznick. This position is within our National Tax team, focusing on Trust & Estate work with potential involvement in 1040/1041 work. The role is hybrid; remote work is permitted, with occasional in-office attendance for client work, meetings, or trainings as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Review complex gift, estate and fiduciary income tax returns
• Review fiduciary accountings for trusts and estates
• Provide tax planning and consulting to high net worth clients for estate and individual income taxes
• Read and summarize estate planning documents, and provide guidance on federal and state income and death tax treatment
• Research and advise on estate, gift, and trust issues (e.g., trustee/beneficiary issues, estate administration tax impact, generation-skipping tax)
• Generate opportunities within existing clients and pursue new client engagement
• Prepare and present technical training to specialty group and core tax department
• Manage client relationships and oversee a team to complete engagements from start to finish

Your Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master’s in Tax is a plus
• CPA or JD required
• Minimum 8 years of progressive tax experience with trusts and estates and high net worth clients
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a public accounting firm
• Strong tax research skills
• Ability to lead, manage and develop staff in a collaborative team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
