The Sr. Director, Global Equity, Inclusion and Diversity drives the strategic planning, development, execution and measurement of Tapestry’s workforce, workplace and marketplace equity, inclusion and diversity objectives, as critical business enablers of company innovation and growth. This role partners with all levels of the organization and third parties as needed to action on a holistic strategy and to establish cross-functional accountability for key deliverables.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Equity, Inclusion and Diversity to support the organization in advancing its diversity, equity and inclusion objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead, develop and performance manage global Equity, Inclusion & Diversity team members
Develop and manage the annual budget, as well as a multi-year long-range plan
Provide direct oversight for day-to-day management of the function budget, reporting and forecasting
Retrieve data from relevant systems and data sources for analysis, measurement and tracking of KPIs for internal and external reporting, accountability, benchmarking, media inquiries and stakeholder engagement
Grow and develop the global Inclusion Network and Inclusion Council program to ensure win-win outcomes for employee experience, community engagement and contribution to organizational outcomes
Identify, evaluate, oversee and cultivate key external industry coalitions and vendor partnerships
Effectively navigate and engage with a complex array of external affairs and stakeholder groups including local and national advocacy groups, legislators, vendors, investors and consumers
Collaborate with and serve as a subject matter expert to corporate and brand centers of excellence across functions (e.g., Human Resources; Corporate Communications; Marketing; Product Development; Legal; ESG; Social Impact; Procurement; Treasury; Investor Relations; Finance; IT; Supply Chain and Logistics)
Serve as a company representative and spokesperson with media outlets, industry coalitions and industry events
Qualifications
12+ years of overall working experience in a business setting
A B.A./B.S. degree in a related discipline preferred (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Equity, Inclusion & Diversity, Multicultural Marketing or related field)
Ability to develop a cross-functional strategy and pivot from strategy to operational execution in a global, matrix environment
A deep passion for and direct experience in leading an Equity, Inclusion & Diversity corporate function
An ability to serve as a confidant, advisor and coach to executive leadership
Capability to foster meaningful relationships with external partners and stakeholders
Strong financial acumen with direct oversight of departmental budgeting and forecasting
A proven track record of facilitating company-wide initiatives with multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders
Strong inspirational leadership, communication, interpersonal skills and team development capability, including co-located and remote team members
Experience in facilitation and public speaking to diverse audiences
Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to use data to develop insights, tell stories, inform decisions, measure impact and drive accountability
A high level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
5+ years of leadership experience in Human Resources, Corporate Communications, B2C or a related field
Thorough understanding of global human resources and diversity management principles, practices, procedures and regulations
Fashion industry or multi-unit experience
Demonstrated acumen in advanced equity, inclusion and strategic diversity management theories and practices
Experience in a fast-paced, multinational work environment
Direct experience leading people systems reporting, analytics, data visualization and AI prompt engineering
