Overview

Business Risk & Controls works to optimize the operation of 1st Line of Defense Business, while driving adherence to Enterprise Risk Management Policies. Under limited supervision, this role helps establish a culture that supports intelligent risk-based decision making and provides support to senior management in improving governance through effective internal controls. The role also seeks to identify areas of vulnerability within the organization and assists in developing corrective action plans.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Directs and assists in documentation of significant business processes or areas of vulnerability.
  • Assists in identifying emerging risks and trends (internal and external) that could impact the goals and objectives of the business.
  • Tests processes to verify controls; develops and implements corrective actions to strengthen controls.
  • Identifies and evaluates critical risks relating to or having an impact on the organization\'s first line of defense.
  • Assists management in maintaining compliance with Enterprise Risk Management Policies and programs.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years financial services risk and controls management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years financial services risk and controls management experience
  • Record keeping experience within financial services
  • Prior experience with 529 products
  • Custody Accounting knowledge
  • Experience managing auditing responses
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written as well as verbal)

Base Pay Range: $81,800/yr - $131,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the compensation package may include participation in an incentive program linked to performance where applicable.
