Overview

Senior Director, North America Sales at Molecular Devices leads a diverse team focused on growing revenue, delighting customers, improving commercial processes, and enabling team members to achieve performance and career goals. The role oversees a cross functional team of sales, customer service, solutions engineers, and applications scientists with about 60 associates and >$100M revenue responsibility. Collaboration with Marketing, Service, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources is essential. This position reports to the Vice President Global Commercial and is remote from the Bay Area or Boston (preferably) to cover North America.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Collaboratively develop, lead, and execute sales strategies and growth initiatives to drive core growth and establish Molecular Devices as a domain expert in 3D biology screening.
  • Lead, improve, and sustain key commercial processes: Daily Management, Funnel Management, onboarding, and related activities.
  • Provide direction, leadership, and coaching for all direct reports; implement standard work to sustain success and productivity.
  • Use data analysis tools and specialist teammates to obtain business insights for forecasting, new product development decisions, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-department partners to support improvements in top-level KPIs (core growth, working capital turns, inventory turns, associate retention, etc.).
  • Utilize and promote Danaher Business System Tools for process improvement, standard work, and visual management.
  • Champion engagement to build organizational capabilities, develop future leaders, and diversify talent.

Essential Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience managing sales and leading commercial teams through change.
  • 7+ years of commercial experience in life science or drug discovery with a sales and service portfolio; internal Danaher candidates may be considered without life science experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, Salesforce.com, Power BI, ServiceMax, and Oracle.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related commercial, life sciences, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Danaher Business System (DBS) or similar lean tools; certification for small team performance or funnel management is a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel 30% - 40%, overnight, within territory or locations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is $250,000 - $275,000. This range may be modified in the future. Job is eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Comprehensive benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) are offered to eligible employees.
