Overview

Sales Director - Pathology West at Leica Biosystems (Danaher). Remote work from home. Salary $170k-$225k, bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

• Drive budgeted growth for core histology and IHC product lines in assigned U.S. region; lead regional sales managers and associates.
• Develop & execute regional sales plans, quotas, account strategies; validate plans semi‑annualy.
• Own regional forecast with 30‑60‑90 day methodology; track KPI weekly/monthly/quarterly and report to VP.
• Implement elite selling practices (Korn Ferry/Miller Heiman, competitive selling); approve contracts and quotations, negotiate long‑term agreements.
• Recruit, retain and develop a top‑performing sales team; create succession plans and align goals, compensation, and performance metrics.
• Champion Voice of the Customer; represent Leica in customer negotiations, trade shows, conferences, and cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, healthcare or related field; 10+ years leading sales of medical capital equipment or life‑science consumables.
• Proven financial acumen, analytical capability, and contracting experience.
• Experience building senior‑level relationships and external alliances in the healthcare marketplace.
• Deep knowledge of sales methodologies, processes, tools, and best practices; ability to lead large, geographically distributed teams.
• Strong communicator; high energy performer who inspires teams and customers; understanding of FDA regulatory environment and regional hospital networks.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel 50‑75% with frequent overnight trips; international travel may be required.

Additional Experience (Plus)

• Advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
• Certification or experience with popular selling methodologies.
• Experience with Danaher Business Systems tools and processes.
• Histology/Pathology expertise preferred.

Travel & Physical Requirements

• Travel 50‑75%; overnight, short notice.
• Valid driver’s license.
