Medical Director Child Abuse Pediatric Program (Finance) The Department of Pediatrics in the Morsani College of Medicine, University of South Florida, is seeking a full-time faculty member who is fellowship-trained and/or board-certified in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine, with experience in Child Abuse Pediatrics. This is a twelve-month, full-time, non-tenure track clinical educator position. Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The selected candidate will serve as the Regional Medical Director for the Child Abuse Pediatrics program, covering Hillsborough and Polk Counties. This role involves providing direct consultation and coordination with healthcare professionals in the evaluation and management of suspected child maltreatment cases, including outpatient and inpatient services. The program collaborates closely with community agencies such as DCF and law enforcement. Currently, there is one USF pediatrician in the program, who also serves as the Statewide Medical Director. The program offers inpatient services primarily at Tampa General Hospital, which has an ACS-certified Pediatric Trauma Program, and outpatient services at the Child Advocacy Center at Mary Lee's House in Tampa, as well as coverage for the Children's Home Society in Polk County. The team includes nurse practitioners, case coordinators, a supervisor, and psychology support. Minimum qualifications: Medical degree from an accredited institution or equivalent, with a demonstrated record in teaching, research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment as Assistant Professor, Associate, or Full Professor. Board certification in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine, with experience in Child Abuse Pediatrics and managing related cases. Eligible for full medical license in Florida. Fellowship training in Child Abuse Pediatrics is preferred but not required.
