About the role:
CHANEL is looking for aGroupDirector, Tech Product Owner-MDM in New York City. This tech product owner, of cloud-based Master Data Management (MDM) solution built on Reltio and Microsoft Azure,will join our BI/CRMTechnologyTeam in Manhattan. The ideal candidate will play a leading role and primary contact for all core activities on this MDM program and willcollaborate with different business stakeholders and corporate functions.
Our idealcandidate will have a minimum of 10years of proven hands-on experience in Tech Product Management with deep expertise in MDM concepts and data integration (Etl, Api, data lakes, etc) in a retail company. Mush have a passion for Tech ProductManagement mastery (e.g. proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout delivery life-cycle, budget steering and contract management), facilitation expertise (e.g. cross-business team input to develop playbook and resources that work globally, technically and across business units), strong technical expertise to partner with different service owners (e.g. Connected touchpoints, ecommerce, BI/CRM, etc.) and exceptional communication skills (e.g Regional Executive updates, presentations, etc) as this role will have interaction with executive level committee for strategic advice, guidance and direction.
This Group Director, Tech Product Owner – MDM will be reporting to the Head of BI/ CRM on the Technology team for the CHANEL US Region. This role is presently an individual contributor with no direct reports.
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
Chanel has an enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) platform leveraging Reltio as the underlying MDM solution, hosted on Microsoft Azure. In this role, you'dbe responsible for the tech product ownership of a cloud-based MDM platform using leading technologies, focused on data governance, quality, and integration across the organization.It's an enterprise-grade platform centralizing and governing master data for the business.
Ensure regional touchpoint integrations into MDM databaseadhere to defined rules, coordinates cross regional sessions for alignment on data flows. Manage match and merge configurations with global counterparts, survivorship rules, and hierarchy modeling.
Program roadmap, status, progress, schedule awareness
Seek input and prepare program roadmaps, project, and/or implementation plans aligned with executive approval. Translate the program vision into program high level scope, design and executables. Facilitates overall end-to-end program governance structure, ranging from Steering Committee to the governance of specific product offerings. Develops and updates ongoing communication to various stakeholders including Regional and Global Executives.
People, process and technology changes and platform/solutions design elements
Facilitates and manages the gathering of business requirements for the enterprise-wide solution. Ground stakeholders in a centralized source of detailed and up-to-date information about the initiative and serve as primary point of contact for all detailed inquiries into program scope. This position solves issues through information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation on program execution plans.
Resource allocation, budget steering and contract management
Manage resource planning and optimizeutilization across a variety of workstream. Responsible for resource capacity management through time tracking and forecasting. Responsible for budget build and financial management of the program in partnership with Finance, reporting information to stakeholders. Ensure project funding processes are completed in compliance with internal standards. Partners with Procurement and Vendor management to create and execute NDAs/Contracts/Statements of Work/Change Orders, and to monitor and renegotiate upon expiration of those documents.
Services quality and security management
Ensure that regional procedures align with global measures to meet service quality and security standards. Liaise with teams and manage the timeline for execution of security testing, reporting and remediations. Facilitates handoff between project teams and support teams to ensure continued delivery excellence.
Escalate issues and risks, alternative evaluation, mitigation approval
Work with teams to problem solve, jointly brainstorming solutions that meet the business needs and makes sense within the product and technical constraints, appropriately evaluate risks and mitigation strategy for review and approval with executive team. Explore and implement contingency plans and ensure cross-functional alignment. Manages intersecting team milestones, consulting on risk mitigation strategies when required.
Decision tracking, go live planning and change management
Drives clarity with decisions made, identify task ownership and closes gaps for completion of activities. Coordinates and facilitates go live planning by ensuring sign off on key deliverables, cutover planning documentation, and change management for major changes to the organization are documented and executed.

What you will bring to the team:
Minimum of 10 years of multidisciplinary professional experience with an emphasis on Tech Product Management and Information Systems - MDM
Expertise and oversight of technical roadmaps for MDM platform, working with Global Tech and PMO and defining integration of regional touchpoint and data schema into MDM (Azure, Reltio, DQM like Precisely)
Ability to manage, match and merge configurations with global counterparts, survivorship rules, and hierarchy modeling
Establish data quality metrics and monitor compliance
Proven experience enforcing Data Governance policies to ensure Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Custodian understand their role and duties
Ability to collaborate with legal on compliance for Data Subject Requests (previously called CCPA), designs flows and data deletion request compliance (onetrust)
Strong presentation, storytelling, PowerPoint & facilitation experience; presenting to local and global executive leaders
Proven ability to not only lead projects for end-to-end delivery with minimal guidance, but also influence the business on best practices and solutions
Knowledge and ability to collaborate with architects and data engineers for seamless integration to CDP, analytics platforms and downstream systems
Responsible for coordination and collaboration for ensuring that the data is protected at all stages of its lifecycle, working to enforce security guidelines on encryption management, access control, secure data flows, threat mitigation, etc.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
Collaboration expertisewith CDP Product Manager on required data mappings, merge instructions and integrations
Establish and enforce sla's for platform support, monitoring and up-time of system
Experience in setting up, operationalizing, and growing technology services
Luxury global retail experience highly preferred
Position Logistics:
Position based in New York City, hybrid 3 days onsite. CHANEL HQ, Midtown, Manhattan.
Must have Retail Industry experience
Minimum of 10 yearsof experience in Tech Product Management with deep expertise in MDM concepts and data integration (Etl, Api, data lakes, etc) in a retail company
Deep expertiseofdata privacy, security, regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA,onetrustetc). Representing the US on the global platform.
Familiarityand experience withMicrosoft Azure, Kafka, Reltio (SAAS, MDM platform or similar). Must have experience owning a tech product roadmap
Luxury global retail experience highly preferred
Strong presentation, storytelling, PowerPoint & facilitation experience;presenting to local and globalexecutive leaders
Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred in Information Systems or Management Systems or equivalent
Occasional presence in Piscataway, NJ. Light international travel may be required.
Some availability/flexibilityto accommodate international teams and schedules when needed
Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $134,900 -$200,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
