Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with the Museum of Craft and Design in the search for an Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be an execution-focused leader and trailblazer for the Museum of Craft and Design. MCD is a highly respected institution with both local and global reach, and is positioned for long-term, sustainable growth. This is an exciting opportunity to lead MCD into the future, exhibiting the unique perspective of the intersection of excellent design and fine craft, building diverse audiences by recognizing multiple perspectives, continuing the process of building a secure financial future for the institution, and promoting a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

The Executive Director will fully responsible for the vision and oversight of the 21-year-old institution. They will build on MCD's history of presenting the best in fine craft and superb design, and its culture of innovation, bold curatorial choices, diversity, and philanthropy. Reporting to and partnering with the Board of Directors, the ED will lead all aspects of the museum and will be responsible for the achievement of the museum's mission and goals. The ED will also serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for the Museum.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and five years of progressively responsible experience in a museum or related nonprofit arts institution, including at least three years at a senior managerial level, is required for this position. An advanced degree or equivalent knowledge in Art History, Fine Arts, Education, Museum Studies, Nonprofit Management, Arts, or Business Administration is preferred. Compensation

The salary range for this position is $210,000 to $240,000.
