The Buffalo Institute of Medical Research (BIMR) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing biomedical research that benefits our Veterans. Job Title: Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)
Hours: 40+ hours a week
Reports To: BIMR Board of Directors
Salary: $78,000 plus incentives

Position Summary:The Executive Director of the non-profit corporation functions as the Chief Executive Officer of the corporation. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for implementation of policies set by the Board of Directors, as well as annual goals and objectives. S/he is responsible for the financial, program and administrative management of the corporation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overall leadership of the staff in the development and implementation of short- and long-range plans and policies, as well as other activities.
  • Responsible for financial management of the corporation, including development and implementation of the annual budget.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and accomplishment of the annual work plan of the corporation.
  • Responsible for liaison with other organizations, such as the VA Medical Center, the affiliate university, and the National Association of Veteran Research and Education Foundation(NAVREF).
  • Responsible providing information and advice to the Board of Directors in the creation of policies, programs and the strategic direction of the corporation.
  • Responsible for support of activities associated with the Board of Directors, including staffing for board meetings, meeting schedules, locations, development of agenda and meeting materials.
  • Responsible for the administration of the overall operation of the corporation, including: negotiation of CRADA agreements with sponsors on behalf of investigators, ensuring that contractual obligations are met, communication with VA offices of Technology Transfer and Non-Profit Oversight as required, preparation of annual reports as requested by the VA and the affiliate university, and developing organizational and administrative policies for the Boards consideration.
  • Responsible for the overall supervision of all assigned staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable VA and HSS regulations related to human research protection.

  • US Citizenship is required for this position.
