About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Plant Services to oversee the operation of its Division of Plant Services and School Planning. This key role involves acting on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools in matters related to the efficient performance of the plant division, including total plant maintenance, rehabilitation, and modernization. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing bid specifications, purchasing, and inventory control, as well as developing plans for construction and reconstruction. The Executive Director will also be involved in architectural and engineering studies, maintaining grounds, and will serve as a liaison with contractors, supervising and evaluating the services of contractors and consultants.

Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering, with a minimum of 3-5 years' of experience in the design, construction, and/or maintenance of large buildings, including at least 2 years' in a managerial or supervisory capacity. The role requires a Professional Engineer or Architect License issued by the State of New York. The ideal candidate will possess extensive professional knowledge in engineering, planning, and school plant design, construction, maintenance, and safety. Skills in problem-solving, work program organization, and the ability to effectively communicate and maintain good working relationships are essential. The Executive Director should also demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, tact, and a physical condition suitable for the demands of the position.
