Overview

AIA|DC seeks an association, non-profit, or design management professional to provide leadership as Executive Director.

The Executive Director will manage operations and direct strategic initiatives for the Chapter as well as the Washington Architectural Foundation (WAF) and the District Architecture Center (DAC). The individual is a resource for the AIA|DC and WAF Boards, members, and staff regarding the implementation of best practices, generation of new ideas, and financial growth. The AIA|DC ED is a strong advocate to the broader public for architects and the profession. Additional information is available at https://dcarchcenter.org.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations and direct strategic initiatives for the Chapter, WAF, and DAC.
• Serve as a resource for the Boards, members, and staff on best practices, idea creation, and financial growth.
• Act as a strong advocate to the broader public for architects and the profession.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of previous management-level experience working in association management, not-for-profit, government affairs, public administration, or communications with a history of increasing responsibility.
• Leadership and Management; Advocacy and Outreach; Programs and Knowledge Delivery; Membership and Communications; Governance and Operations.
