About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Strategy in Oncology R&D. The successful candidate will be a key leader in shaping the future oncology strategy and portfolio, with a focus on high-impact and complex strategic topics. This role requires a strategic mindset, analytical rigor, and strong people leadership to deliver positive outcomes. The Executive Director will be responsible for the development and delivery of therapeutic area strategy, including the integration of clinical, scientific, and commercial insights to guide portfolio decisions. They will also be accountable for defining and communicating clear strategic direction for near- and long-term growth across assets and platforms, and for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to achieve high-impact strategic objectives.
Candidates for this role at the company should have a BA/BS with 10 years' of experience, an MS/MBA with 8+ years', or a PhD/MD with 5+ years' in life sciences or a consulting firm with a focus on life science programs. A deep understanding of oncology therapeutic area strategy is essential, as is the ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior executive teams. The role demands a leader who can think critically, creatively, and anticipate and solve problems, and who is adept at fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Preferred qualifications include strong analytical and communication skills, effective interpersonal and relationship management skills, and a background in the pharmaceutical business, particularly in R&D. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, motivated, and proactive, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-growing organization and a proven track record in strategic planning processes and tools.
