About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development for the College of Humanities & Sciences. The successful candidate will serve as the lead development officer and a strategic fundraising thought partner, working closely with the dean and other academic leaders to achieve the institution's fundraising goals. This role involves designing and measuring annual and long-range fundraising plans, managing a portfolio of top individual and corporate prospects, and coaching a team of fundraising professionals. The Executive Director will also be responsible for integrating the college's faculty, students, and alumni into development activities and ensuring the accurate documentation of all donor activity.
Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a proven track record in securing philanthropic support, including six-, seven-, and eight-figure gifts. The role requires the ability to identify, qualify, and solicit major and principal gift prospects, as well as to coach and manage a team of fundraising staff. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, mission-driven individual with a strong commitment to the values of the institution. They should be adept at collaborating with internal partners, maintaining high standards of service, and demonstrating an open-minded approach to diversity and inclusion. The Executive Director will be expected to reflect the core purpose and values of the company and to ensure that their work is completed with accuracy, within deadlines, and with the utmost professionalism.
