About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development for the College of Humanities & Sciences. The successful candidate will serve as the lead development officer and a strategic fundraising thought partner, working closely with the dean and other academic leaders to achieve the institution's fundraising goals. This role involves designing and measuring annual and long-range fundraising plans, managing a portfolio of top individual and corporate prospects, and coaching a team of fundraising professionals. The Executive Director will also be responsible for integrating various stakeholders into development activities, preparing briefing documents, and ensuring accurate documentation of all donor activity.
Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for a Master's degree or advanced work experience. A minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, particularly in the context of higher education or healthcare, is preferred. The role requires a demonstrated ability to secure and steward significant gifts, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a complex environment.
