About Commercial Our Commercial organization leads our global sales and marketing strategies. We continue to strengthen BioMarin's presence across the United States, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. Position Overview: The Executive Director, Global Value and Access, reports to the SVP of GVASP and is part of the GVASP Leadership Team. This role leads a team of V&A experts responsible for developing and executing global market access and pricing strategies that demonstrate the value of our therapies and support patient access while shaping those strategies. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in developing innovative access and pricing strategies, key value materials, and tools across multiple markets. A strong analytical background, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of U.S. and international healthcare systems (including Brazil, Germany, Italy, and Japan), payer requirements, and market dynamics are essential. Experience in rare diseases is preferred. Responsibilities: Develop global integrated access and pricing strategies to maximize the value of assets, leading a team of direct reports and partners. Create and govern V&A key deliverables for products and pipeline assets in alignment with business units and international partners. Lead a high-performing, global and matrixed team of V&A experts. Provide strategic market access input for global clinical development programs to meet payer needs, including early engagement with stakeholders. Generate global V&A strategies, evidence plans, value propositions, and stakeholder engagement plans. Build strong relationships with functions responsible for value proposition enablement, including Clinical, Commercial, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Government Affairs. Identify evidence requirements for product access and develop evidence generation plans collaboratively. Design V&A services and deliverables for optimal support and efficiency, sharing best practices internationally. Monitor and analyze global market access trends, competitor activities, and policy changes to adapt strategies. Support broader market access goals, including pricing targets, access timelines, and successful product launches. Develop pricing estimates, value propositions, and access plans for pipeline and potential assets. Contribute strategically as a member of GV&A's leadership team, shaping team priorities and strategies. Requirements: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in Life Sciences, Health Economics, Public Health, or related fields preferred. +15 years of relevant international leadership experience in a similar organization. Strong experience in pricing and reimbursement, with knowledge of key HTA markets (e.g., UK, Germany, France, Canada); rare diseases experience is a plus. Hands-on experience with pricing regulations and early/launch pricing analysis. Experience supporting early global development to meet market access evidence requirements. Proven success in developing value propositions and access strategies. Knowledge of global policy trends, HTA/payer dynamics, and market access recommendations. Ability to manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment. Leadership skills in influencing decisions, shaping policies, and managing teams. Expertise in strategic pricing, contracting, negotiation, and lifecycle management. Understanding of the pharmaceutical product lifecycle, including launch planning and value drivers. Experience developing global V&A strategies, messages, and tools for market implementation. Experience with early-stage assets and providing V&A guidance during development. Proven ability to lead diverse, global teams and develop talent. Strong cross-functional leadership, facilitation, negotiation, and counseling skills.
