About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Underwriter and Portfolio Manager with a focus on maritime finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of asset-backed maritime financing transactions. This includes leading deal teams, mentoring junior staff, and preparing presentations and reports for both regulatory and internal purposes. The role involves playing a key part in the evaluation of new business, conducting due diligence, and presenting transactions for credit approval. The candidate will also be expected to analyze financial statements, assess capital structures, and identify transaction risks and mitigants.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years' of experience in maritime finance, with a preference for a background in lending. Alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED with 12 years' of experience will be considered. A degree in finance or accounting is preferred, and additional qualifications such as an MBA, CFA, or CPA are a plus. The ideal candidate will have formal credit training, experience in underwriting and executing senior debt transactions, and a strong understanding of financial statements and capital structures. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.
