The Director, Process Improvement will develop, manage, and lead continuous process improvement initiatives across the Orthodontic Business Unit operations; identifying business and clinical operational improvement opportunities, optimizing templates, workflows, enhancing patient experience, and driving continuous sustainable organizational growth.

  • Lead process improvement diagnosing, planning, and strategies across practices in the Orthodontic Business Unit, ensuring operational consistency, efficiency, and compliance with dental regulations.
  • Partner with Vice President, Operations, Regional Directors, practice leadership, clinical directors, and administrative teams to identify inefficiencies, analyze root causes, and implement data-driven solutions tailored to Orthodontic operations and proven in result of KPI results growth.
  • Build Orthodontic templating efficiencies and best practices, creating patient access growth and the ability to track and maintain healthy provider utilization.
  • Design and manage process reengineering projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices adapted to dental workflows, clinical care, and patient management.
  • Develop standardized operational protocols, scheduling processes, and patient care workflows to optimize clinical throughput, patient satisfaction, and staff efficiency.
  • Design, Build and Facilitate training workshops, value stream mapping, and improvement initiatives to engage clinical and administrative teams across all sites as needed.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to clinical performance, patient experience, revenue cycle management, and operational outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor Orthodontic Office Managers, clinical leads, and staff on continuous improvement practices and operational excellence. Keep a clear line of communication and alignment with Regional Directors and others supporting each practice in accordance to topics and directive.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations summarizing initiative outcomes, operational impact, and ROI.
  • Willingness to travel consistently (3-4 days per week) to different markets and projects as assigned by the Vice President, Operations
  • Ability to drive consistency in communications and partnership with Home Office teams and Field Leadership.
  • Ability to be flexible and resilient to the changing of needs in the business in support of outcomes and improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in Orthodontic operations inclusive of (but not limited to) work with process improvement, operational excellence, or management consulting, including experience in Orthodontic practice management or multi-site Orthodontics operations, with at least 3 years in a director-level role.
  • Proven success in leading multi-site process improvement initiatives and clinical operational optimization.
  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies. (Preferred)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence dental leadership and clinical teams.
  • Experience managing private dental practices, multi-location dental offices, or dental service organizations (DSOs) highly desirable.
