Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead perioperative operations at a thriving acute care facility. This role offers the opportunity to oversee a comprehensive surgical program, guide a team of 70+ FTEs, and drive growth initiatives including the expansion of robotic surgery capabilities. Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for all areas of Surgical Services (OR, SPD, PACU, Endoscopy, Pre/Post).

• Develop, implement, and evaluate programs that ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

• Enforce standards of care and compliance with regulatory/accrediting requirements.

• Drive patient experience initiatives and serve as the perioperative service line leader.

• Manage budgets, capital equipment requests, and resource allocation.

• Lead and mentor managers, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, and staff.

• Collaborate with anesthesia and surgeons to support service line growth.

• Oversee performance improvement initiatives and quality metrics.

• Support the growth agenda including DaVinci robotic surgery and central sterile upgrades.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

• Current RN license in Virginia or Compact state

• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in Surgical Services (Manager or Director level)

Preferred

• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)

• Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM)
