Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for perioperative services. This high-impact role is responsible for advancing surgical programs, ensuring safe patient care, and overseeing a growing department with 110+ FTEs and expanding operating rooms. Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 oversight of OR, Preop/PACU, PAT, and SPD departments.

• Lead strategic growth initiatives to expand surgical volume.

• Enforce standards of care and ensure compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations.

• Manage departmental budgets, equipment, and resource allocation.

• Recruit, mentor, and coach surgical services staff (charge nurses, supervisors, and future leaders).

• Actively participate in hospital committees and ensure clear communication across teams.

• Drive quality improvement and performance initiatives.

• Build strong physician, staff, and community relationships to promote service excellence.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

• Active RN license in state of practice or Compact license

• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in Surgical Services (Manager or higher)

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration

• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room)

• CSSM (Certified Surgical Services Manager)
