MISTRAS Group is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Strategic Accounts to lead relationship development for new and existing strategic accounts and drive business growth with its most valuable and loyal accounts and all major players in the marketplace. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional relationship-building skills, deep industry knowledge, and a proven track record of securing and growing large-scale accounts. Major Responsibilities/Activities: Strategic Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for MISTRAS Group’s high-priority field services accounts, fostering strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders. Develop and execute account strategies to maximize customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, sales, subject matter experts, etc.) to ensure seamless delivery of solutions that meet client needs. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with the largest players in the oil and gas market. Relationships in infrastructure (new construction) and power generation markets are a plus. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients through proactive outreach, networking, and industry events. Lead negotiations for high-value contracts, ensuring alignment with MISTRAS Group’s business objectives and profitability goals. Develop go-to-market strategies and action plans for key focus accounts, based on a market-back analysis, identifying major customers and creating targeted approaches to build strong, strategic partnerships. Market and Industry Expertise: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes in the oil and gas market. Knowledge of the infrastructure (new construction) and power generation markets is a plus. Leverage market insights to position MISTRAS Group as the preferred partner for asset protection and inspection services. Represent MISTRAS Group at industry conferences, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, product development, and technical teams to tailor solutions that address client-specific challenges. Provide feedback to internal teams to drive innovation and improve service offerings based on customer needs. Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop key account plans and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for account growth, customer satisfaction, and revenue targets. Provide regular updates to executive and senior leadership on account performance, market opportunities, and strategic initiatives. Minimum Requirements: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in strategic account management, business development, or sales, with at least 5 years in the oil and gas, infrastructure (new construction), or power generation markets. Proven track record of managing and growing high-value accounts with annual revenues exceeding $10M. Skills and Competencies: Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage C-Suite executives and key decision-makers, not just at the local site level. Strong understanding of non-destructive testing, inspection, and asset protection services is highly desirable. Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute long-term account plans. Deep understanding oil and gas project lifecycle and markets, and proven network with key stakeholders in oil and gas companies. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. CRM experience required. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 80% to meet with clients and attend industry events. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in oil and gas is necessary, infrastructure (new construction) or power generation is a plus.
