The Director of Quality at a rapidly growing food manufacturer in Elgin, IL is responsible for leading all quality assurance and food safety initiatives. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance and food safety programs specific to powdered food products.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, SQF, and HACCP standards.
Lead and mentor the quality control team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Oversee incoming raw material inspections, in-process testing, and final product quality evaluations to ensure consistency and safety.
Manage supplier quality programs and conduct regular audits to ensure raw materials meet strict quality standards.
Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve quality issues.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for any quality deviations or customer complaints.
Lead internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits, and manage responses to findings.
Monitor quality metrics, prepare reports for senior management, and recommend improvements.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all quality and safety activities.
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to powdered food manufacturing.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential to foster a culture of quality and ensure product safety and consistency.
Compensation up to $160,000
