We are looking for a Director of People and Legal who will lead Human Resource Operations and Legal functions in a growing tech organization.
Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will engage internal and external stakeholders across a variety of business needs, including commercial negotiations, employee lifecycle, and HR practices, IP and data protection, as well as other strategic initiatives. What You'll be Doing: Designing an excellent employee experience from onboarding to growth, fostering a vibrant, inclusive culture. Driving strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and building a world-class team. Steering us through legal landscapes, ensuring compliance and protecting our organization. Negotiating and reviewing contracts with clients, vendors, and other partners, including SaaS and data contracts, power purchase agreements, and other commercial contracts. Building a robust risk management framework, safeguarding our future and turning potential threats into opportunities. Staying up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate such changes to the appropriate stakeholders. What We're Looking for: 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a mix of legal and people / HR Operations experience J.D. and admitted to at least one state bar Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to stakeholders Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively Excellent communication skills, including experience negotiating commercial contracts Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment Experience working in a regulated industry or with regulated clients Experience negotiating SaaS contracts or renewable energy project transactions Combined law firm and in-house experience Contract Lifecycle Management system experience Passion for transitioning to a zero-carbon future We work on a hybrid model. We are in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at our downtown Boston building, and remote work is optional on Wednesdays and Fridays.
