Reports To: Executive Leadership
Salary Range: $160,000 – $190,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
We are seeking a Director of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across our manufacturing and supply chain functions. This senior-level role is critical to achieving performance excellence in support of high-stakes defense programs and customer commitments.
Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end operations including advanced materials processing, CNC machining, assembly, and integrated supply chain functions.
Manage the full supply chain lifecycle: sourcing, procurement, vendor relations, logistics, and inventory control—ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and minimal risk.
Ensure operational readiness for aerospace and defense programs, maintaining compliance with ITAR , ISO 9001 , and other regulatory/quality standards.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Program Management to align operations with customer requirements and contract deliverables.
Oversee production scheduling and resource planning to meet strict program milestones and delivery deadlines.
Develop and continuously refine KPIs to drive improvements in quality, throughput, cost, and customer satisfaction.
Build and lead high-performing teams—mentoring department heads and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence programs to enhance productivity and eliminate waste.
Support long-term strategic initiatives, capital planning, and capacity expansion efforts in partnership with executive leadership.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related discipline.
12+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, including 5+ years in senior leadership within aerospace, defense, or naval industries.
Experience working with or for a U.S. DoD contractor or subcontractor, with deep understanding of defense acquisition and compliance.
Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ITAR , DFARS , AS9100 , and ISO 9001 .
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional teams in regulated, mission-critical environments.
Proven track record in supply chain strategy, production planning, and vendor management.
Proficiency with ERP systems and digital manufacturing tools.
U.S. citizenship required due to contractual obligations. Active or eligible security clearance is a strong advantage.
