Job Description

At Deca/Ideal Dental, we’re on a mission to revolutionize dental care—and we want you to be part of the journey! As one of North America's fastest-growing dental groups, we're driven by our vision to provide exceptional, comprehensive dental services all under one roof. Established in 2008, we’re proud to be clinician-founded and clinician-led, with a focus on patient-centered care and an unwavering commitment to innovation and growth.

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of a rapidly growing, private equity-backed dental care organization. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across a multi-site Dental Support Organization (DSO), this position partners closely with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders to drive informed decision-making and maximize enterprise value. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of private equity-backed, multi-site healthcare services and thrives in high-growth, dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Planning

    • Lead the annual budgeting and long-range planning process across all dental practice locations, ensuring alignment with growth and operational goals.

    • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to ensure financial plans support practice-level performance and strategic expansion initiatives.

  • Forecasting & Scenario Modeling

    • Develop and maintain dynamic rolling forecasts and sensitivity analyses to support decision-making in a PE-backed environment.

    • Model the financial impact of de novos, acquisitions, and operational efficiencies.

  • Performance Analytics & KPI Management

    • Deliver actionable insights into revenue, margin, and cost trends across the DSO network.

    • Monitor key metrics including same-store growth, provider productivity, payer mix, and operating leverage.

  • Executive & Investor Reporting

    • Prepare financial dashboards and board-ready presentations for private equity sponsors and executive leadership.

    • Support lender and investor reporting requirements and ad-hoc financial due diligence requests.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership

    • Partner with Operations, Revenue Cycle Management, and Clinical Leadership to drive accountability and improve financial outcomes at the practice level.

    • Serve as a financial advisor to operations and business units, translating data into insights that inform growth strategies and operational improvements.

  • Team Leadership

    • Build and develop a best-in-class FP&A team capable of supporting a scaling, multi-site dental organization.

    • Implement best practices and standardized processes to support rapid growth and scalability.

  • Process & Systems Optimization

    • Lead automation efforts across financial reporting and planning using FP&A tools and ERP systems.

    • Enhance data integrity and visibility by optimizing integrations between practice management systems (e.g., Denticon) and financial platforms.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA Finance strongly preferred.

  • 10 - 15+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role within a multi-site healthcare services or dental business.

  • Experience in a private equity-backed environment is strongly preferred.

  • Early career experience as an Analyst or Associate in investment banking and/or working for a private equity firm is strongly preferred.

  • Deep understanding of healthcare services operations, clinical KPIs, and revenue cycle dynamics.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and business intelligence tools.

  • Strong familiarity with leading ERP and FP&A platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and physician practice management or dental practice management systems (e.g., Denticon, Open Dental).

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and present to executive and investor audiences.
