Role Oversee and contribute to a multidisciplinary team of software engineers developing amazing user experiences. Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert. Create plans and processes, and drive execution for the engineering team. Hire and mentor a world-class team, including providing coaching and career guidance. Advocate for code quality, new technologies, and architectural design within the company. Follow projects from inception through implementation to help ensure they are on time and of remarkable quality. Support initiatives to improve engineering efficiency, quality, and happiness. Collaborate with product and delight teams to ship incredible features and products. Qualifications Experience: You have 10+ years of experience contributing to engineering teams including 5+ years as a hands-on contributor, and 3+ years of leading teams. Technical Skills: Proficient in backend technologies such as Go, Java/Scala, Ruby, Python, etc. AI Enthusiast: Believe AI will revolutionize how we work and how we create experiences for customers; leverage AI to boost productivity and impact. Leadership: Track record of leading and developing high-performing, inclusive, mission-driven teams. Remarkable Quality: Produce work that is striking and contributes to the state of the art. Excellent Communicator: Ability to distill complexity into clear messaging; effective across mediums; comfortable in a remote-first environment. Ownership: Take 100% responsibility for personal and company outcomes. Cares Deeply, Communicates Directly: Openly discuss and debate ideas; focus on customer and business impact. Bias to Action: Value speed and take thoughtful steps forward, even with uncertainty. Structured Project Management: Bring structure to tasks and break down large work into manageable pieces. Salary Salary information: We take a market-based approach to compensation; base pay varies by location. In San Francisco, CA, starting salaries for candidates range from $264,000 to $385,000.
