The Director of Distribution will lead all aspects of Mood's national fulfillment and logistics operations. This role oversees order fulfillment, inventory control, warehouse operations, and outbound shipping, ensuring fast, compliant, and cost-efficient delivery of products to customers in 30+ states. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator with experience in high-volume DTC and DTB environments, a firm handle on systems, and a sharp focus on team development, operational discipline, and compliance.
What You'll Do:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Charlotte-based distribution center, including inventory, picking/packing, shipping, and quality control Lead, coach, and develop a team of operations managers, leads, and associates to meet performance, safety, and compliance goals Drive improvements in order accuracy, fulfillment speed, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency Leverage platforms like ShipStation, Voice Picking, and Shopify to manage order flow and track OKRs Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Customer Experience, Wholesale, Marketing, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment between business demand and distribution capabilities Develop and maintain SOPs, training programs, and safety protocols to support scale and consistency Leverage data and reporting to identify trends, monitor KPIs, and proactively address bottlenecks Manage relationships with shipping carriers and packaging vendors; optimize contracts and performance Own physical space planning and equipment upgrades as needed to accommodate growth
What You Bring:
7+ years of leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations Proven ability to lead high-volume, direct-to-consumer and wholesale fulfillment teams in fast-scaling companies Hands-on experience with ShipStation, Voice Picking, Shopify, or similar platforms A team player. Excellent at building relationships within your team and across teams A motivated and active learner. If you don't understand something, you figure out a way to learn about it, and you aren't afraid to ask when you need help A track record of owning projects or programs end-to-end, including, but not limited to, communications and change management Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to juggle multiple deadlines at once Superb written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to think critically and anticipate issues before they arise, and proactively suggest big-picture solutions No hesitation in getting your hands dirty in the trenches. You are not too pretentious to grind it out, whether it is picking orders or loading trucks A passion for people and doing the right thing, even when it's not the easy thing (hard right over easy wrong)
