We're seeking a Director of Distribution to lead all aspects of a national fulfillment and logistics operation. This pivotal role oversees order fulfillment, inventory control, warehouse operations, and outbound shipping, ensuring fast, compliant, and cost-efficient delivery of products to customers across numerous states. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator with extensive experience in high-volume Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and Direct-to-Business (DTB) environments , possessing a firm grasp of systems and a sharp focus on team development, operational discipline, and compliance. What You'll Do Oversee daily operations of a primary distribution center, including inventory management, picking/packing processes, shipping, and quality control. Lead, coach, and develop a team of operations managers, leads, and associates to achieve performance, safety, and compliance objectives. Drive continuous improvements in order accuracy, fulfillment speed, inventory accuracy, and overall cost efficiency. Leverage key platforms (e.g., ShipStation, Voice Picking, Shopify, or similar) to manage order flow and track key performance indicators (OKRs). Foster cross-functional partnerships with internal teams such as Procurement, Customer Experience, Wholesale, Marketing, and Compliance to ensure seamless alignment between business demand and distribution capabilities. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) , comprehensive training programs, and rigorous safety protocols to support scalability and consistency. Utilize data and reporting to identify emerging trends, monitor KPIs, and proactively address operational bottlenecks. Manage critical relationships with shipping carriers and packaging vendors, optimizing contracts and performance. Take ownership of physical space planning and equipment upgrades as necessary to accommodate business growth. What You Bring 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations. Proven track record in leading high-volume, direct-to-consumer and wholesale fulfillment teams within rapidly scaling organizations. Hands-on experience with industry-standard shipping, inventory, and e-commerce platforms (e.g., ShipStation, Voice Picking, Shopify, or equivalents). Exceptional team player with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships both within your direct team and across various departments. Highly motivated and proactive learner , eager to acquire new knowledge and seek assistance when needed. Documented success in owning projects or programs from end-to-end, including effective communications and change management. Outstanding multi-tasking skills and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines concurrently. Superb written and verbal communication abilities. Proven critical thinking skills , with the ability to anticipate issues and proactively propose strategic, big-picture solutions. Willingness to be hands-on and engage directly in operational tasks, demonstrating a commitment to the team's success.
