Director of Behavioral Health

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Behavioral Health to lead and oversee all behavioral health services within our organization. This role will ensure that programs meet the highest standards of clinical quality, regulatory compliance, and community impact. The Director will work closely with senior leadership, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and drive innovation in service delivery to meet the needs of the populations we serve.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for all behavioral health programs and initiatives.
Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality care.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate program managers, clinical supervisors, and other key staff.
Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
Manage program budgets, contracts, and funding sources effectively.
Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies, healthcare providers, and stakeholders.
Lead quality improvement efforts, analyzing performance data and implementing corrective actions where needed.
Oversee staff recruitment, training, and professional development.
Represent the behavioral health department at board meetings, public forums, and industry events.
Prepare regular reports for executive leadership, funders, and regulatory agencies.
Requirements Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, or related field (Doctorate preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of senior-level leadership experience in behavioral or mental health services.
Licensed mental health professional (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent) preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health systems, funding streams, and clinical best practices.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with community partners and government agencies.
