Department 7290 Home Health Agency
Provides leadership, direction, guidance and coordination of the Home Health Program and Services. Serves as the Home Health Administrator who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Home Health Agency.
The purpose of this position is to provide 24/7 oversight to meet the needs of the patients and families served in our Home Health and Home Care departments. Demonstrates high-level leadership accountability in assuring staff competency, financial responsibility, and enhancing Kaweah Health's mission and vision to achieve strategic priorities. Home Health has 55 employees with average census of approximately 300. Home Care Services has 93 employees.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in a health related field Preferred: Master's degree in nursing, healthcare, business or related discipline
Experience Required: Five years of management experience in healthcare or hospital leadership
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Responsible for the overall operations of Home Health. Coordinates evaluation of all department activities and personnel. Assures financial sustainability of all assigned programs within limitations of the reimbursement climate. Works in collaboration with the billing department to assure timely billing and low AR days. Participates in the creation of a work environment and culture that facilitates personal growth and well-being for all. Formulates, evaluates, and reviews policies and procedures and develops systems for the efficient running of all programs. Assures that all patient care activities are in accordance with rules and regulations governing home care services. Develops program policies and procedures while meeting regulatory and Joint Commission requirements for Home Health. Selects and hires employees in accordance with program needs and resources available. Assures departments have effective and ongoing orientation, in-service education, team conferences, staff meetings, and other critical communication systems in place. Determines the qualification and competence level for department staff. Supervises and trains direct report personnel. Prepares annual budget and monitors fiscal affairs of all programs. Participates in the review and decision making for managed care contracts. Identifies and directs studies that improve quality of services by each of the programs utilizing national benchmarking data, industry standards, and actual patient care problems that arise, developing solutions and following these solutions to their conclusion. Participates on appropriate committees at Kaweah and community level representing all programs and when appropriate, marketing program services. Prepares monthly and annual reports for all programs. Integrates the department/services with Kaweah's primary functions. Continuously assesses and improves department performance. Recommends requirements for space and other resources. Participates in selecting outside sources for needed services. Enhances professional growth and maintains awareness of current industry trends, legislations or research which could impact the departments and Kaweah overall. Provides administrative oversight to Home Health including the agency's quality management system, hiring qualified staff, ensures adequate staffing, staff education, marketing, and acts as an ongoing liaison between the governing body and staff.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs. Able to effectively communicate and care for patient and family as reflected in the Plan for Provision of Care.
