Director, Engineering Strategy & Operations

The Director of Engineering Operations is a senior leadership role focused on driving operational excellence across the engineering organization. This role serves as a critical link between engineering execution and business strategy, ensuring teams operate with efficiency, deliver high‑quality outcomes, and align with broader company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and customer‑first problem solving.
  • Build pathways for engineers to progress from onboarding to technical leadership in the field.
  • Define the technical vision for the engineering program, ensuring alignment with Salesforce platform best practices, guardrails, and product roadmaps.
  • Develop and scale technical engagement models (e.g., Implementation, MVP, Advisory) for repeatable, high‑impact customer engagements.
  • Evaluate program outcomes using data‑driven insights to guide decision‑making and refine future strategies.
  • Work closely with Salesforce Product and Engineering teams to align field feedback with product improvements.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Professional Services to define technical handoffs and ensure long‑term customer success.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex deployments and customer technical blockers.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of Operational & Program Engineering leadership experience in SaaS or enterprise software environments (not purely software engineering leadership experience).
  • Past consulting experience highly preferred.
  • Experience scaling engineering teams and operations in fast‑paced environments with background in change management and scaling operational frameworks.
  • Deep technical expertise in Salesforce Platform architecture, application development, and scale/performance best practices.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS deployment models, platform guardrails, and technical health frameworks.
  • Operational mindset with experience scaling global programs and managing technical processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence senior engineers, product teams, and customer stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
