Pay and base salary

Base pay range: $205,600.00/yr - $274,500.00/yr

The Team and Role

The Director, Corporate Strategy is a senior leader who will lead several cross‑functional projects and manage a team. You will influence key elements of eBay’s strategy and help shape its direction. The ideal candidate has a track record of pragmatic, concrete recommendations with real‑world implementation experience, strong analytic skills, and the ability to develop creative, well‑thought‑out solutions for challenging business problems.

Role Responsibilities

• Strategy Development: Develop strategies for eBay to differentiate in the market, craft key initiatives, and work with key constituencies to gain consensus.
• Project leadership: Independently lead cross‑functional projects involving executives and senior partners.
• Thought leadership: Develop content and topic expertise, structure problems, and develop creative solutions to challenges.
• Strategy Mobilization: Support mobilization and implementation of business strategies across the organization.
• Market and Competitive Analysis: Generate market intelligence on trends and advise on strategic implications.
• Business Analytics: Perform analysis to identify, prioritize, structure, and solve problems.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a driven strategy team in developing and executing initiatives.
• Communication: Develop storylines and present to senior leadership.
• Leading through uncertainty: Self‑direct and manage resources to deliver quality end‑products in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of work experience; 2–3 years at a top strategy consulting firm at project management level are a must.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
• Expertise in technology, ideally in ecommerce, retail, payments, and/or consumer‑facing products is highly desirable.
• Intellectual curiosity; excellence in structured thinking; ability to develop sensible, creative solutions and see around corners.
• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate strategy clearly and simply; experience with executive‑level interactions.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a strategy team; capable of leading, empowering, and guiding team members.
• Comfort in cross‑functional collaboration in a highly matrixed environment.
• Outstanding analytical capabilities (quantitative and qualitative) and ability to generate key insights.
• Highly collaborative and adaptable in a dynamic corporate environment.

Other information

The base pay range for this position is expected to be $205,600 - $274,500. Base pay offered may vary based on location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include a target bonus and restricted stock units, along with a full range of medical and other benefits. Employees are in an at‑will position.
