Overview

The Corporate Strategy team tackles some of Visa’s toughest questions to chart our long-term strategy. Our Corporate Strategy group is composed of six distinct teams: a Global Strategy team driving strategy work across Visa's businesses, geographies, and functions, and five regional teams driving strategy work in each of Visa's five geographic regions. The Director: Global Corporate Strategy is on the Global Corporate Strategy team.

In this role, you will embark on a structured two-year experience that serves as the foundation for a lasting career at Visa. The two-year experience is designed for you to receive regular coaching, develop a board network across Visa, and tackle the most difficult and pressing strategic and operational topics at Visa. After two years, you will continue to grow on the strategy team or move to a broader business area at Visa.

Hybrid work: This position is hybrid. The expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead major strategic projects, developing unique and creative solutions that strengthen Visa Inc.'s corporate strategy.
  • Scope and structure projects and workstreams for the corporate strategy team and across functions and regions. This includes assigning individual workstreams, setting deadlines, creating roles and responsibilities, owning readouts, and more.
  • Lead team members to develop rigorous, fact-based, quantitative analyses to support recommendations. Ensure strategic and financial soundness of recommendations.
  • Communicate recommendations to senior management, other executives, functional, or regional staff in a clear, concise, and impactful way.
  • Lead and participate in regular strategy and payments-focused trainings. Serve as a coach/mentor to more junior team members.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8–10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or equivalent.
  • Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry is a plus.
  • Ability to independently lead and manage several projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership across varied business problems.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to structure and analyze sophisticated financial modeling.
  • Strong personal presence and the ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior stakeholders and external partners.

Additional Information

  • Work Hours: Varies depending on department needs.
  • Travel Requirements: 5–10% of the time.
  • Mental/Physical Requirements: Office setting; ability to sit/stand at a desk, communicate in person and by phone, and operate standard office equipment.

U.S. applicants: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300.00 to 278,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential incentive payments. Salary may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
