Associate Director, Scientific Strategy Somerville, NJ (Remote/Hybrid) Contract Length: 1 Year Our client is seeking an Associate Director, Scientific Strategy to join their Global Medical Affairs team on a one-year contract, working remotely or in a hybrid capacity from Somerville, NJ. This role is ideal for a Medical & Scientific Communications Specialist with a strong background in scientific communication and medical writing, particularly in oncology and CAR-T therapy. The successful candidate will interpret and synthesize complex scientific content, develop tailored messaging for diverse stakeholders, and support publication planning. You will facilitate cross-functional collaboration under tight timelines, manage project tracking, support healthcare professional engagement, and oversee digital content updates and vendor relationships. The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, experience in large pharmaceutical or biotech environments, and proficiency with internal communication platforms such as Teams, SharePoint, SKIM, and managing email distribution lists. Strong scientific literacy is essential. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Strong background in medical/scientific communication or medical writing Experience supporting Global Medical Affairs initiatives, particularly in oncology Exposure to or deep understanding of CAR-T therapy (highly preferred) Familiarity with internal communication tools such as Teams, SharePoint, SKIM, and managing email distribution lists Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in large pharmaceutical or biotech organizations Ability to operate effectively in a high-tempo, dynamic environment typical of large pharma RESPONSIBILITIES Interpret and synthesize complex scientific and medical content, focusing on CAR-T therapy and broader oncology topics Develop and tailor key scientific messaging for internal and external stakeholders, including summaries, abstracts, and publication planning materials Support cross-functional collaboration by aligning with internal teams, agencies, and external partners under tight timelines in a matrixed pharmaceutical environment Contribute to Global Medical Affairs team operations, including meeting coordination, agenda building, slide preparation, and capturing meeting minutes and follow-ups Maintain project tracking and communication through light project management activities Assist with healthcare professional (HCP) engagement support, including payment and sponsorship tracking processes Support newsletter creation and digital content updates, including basic site maintenance and administration across platforms (Teams, SharePoint, SKIM) Manage vendor relationships for advisory boards, steering committees, and other external collaborations
