Reports to: Executive Director Classification: Full-Time, Exempt (Non-Union – Managerial) Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 (Compensation is commensurate based on experience, skills, education, and training.) Location: 3533 W North Ave Mission: La Casa Norte (LCN) empowers youth and families facing homelessness with the tools to achieve lasting independence and stability. Position Summary: The Associate Director of Operations oversees La Casa Norte's physical spaces, operational systems, and vendor partnerships to ensure safe, clean, and functional environments that support programmatic excellence. This role leads to both the day-to-day operations and strategic planning for building maintenance, IT infrastructure, safety compliance, asset and lease management, and cross-departmental coordination. The Associate Director manages both staff and vendor relationships and plays a key role in emergency preparedness, capital planning, and internal customer service across departments. Key Responsibilities: Staff Supervision and Performance Management Supervisebuilding operations, maintenance, and property management teams. Manage contracts and external vendors supporting facilities, security, and IT Provide performance feedback, training, and schedules Partner with HR for recruitment, onboarding, and performance management Maintain records of attendance, task completion, and any incidents affecting staff performance or safety Facilities & Site Management Ensures that all LCN buildings and spaces are clean, safe, accessible, and well-maintained Leads inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety upgrades Develops and maintain emergency preparedness protocols for each site Asset and Property Oversight Oversee inventory and lifecycle of all physical and technological assets Manage lease negotiations and landlord relationships for scattered sites Monitor and support rent collection and tenant communication via supervised staff Security & Safety Oversee security systems, protocols, and vendor compliance Implement surveillance, alarm, and access control measures IT Infrastructure (in partnership with vendors) Manage equipment inventory, tracking systems, and vendor relationships Support IT troubleshooting processes and system lifecycle planning Operations Strategy & Compliance Create and implement SOPs for site operations, facility use, and emergency response Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and codes Forecast facilities needs and contribute to capital planning efforts Cross Departmental Coordination Respond to internal service needs from Program, Finance, and HR teams Participate in strategic meetings to align facilities with program growth and client services Documentation and Communication Maintain daily logs of completed tasks, vendor visits, staff schedules, and unresolved issues Submit supply needs or equipment repair requests to Facilities leadership Communicate with other departments regarding site readiness or facility disruptions Ensure the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of all program and administrative spaces Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field 5–7 years of progressive experience in facilities and operations management Supervisory and vendor management experience required Demonstrated success in process improvement and emergency preparedness Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and asset/inventory tracking systems Compensation and Benefits Package Includes: Paid Time Off: 14 vacation days per year. Personal Days: 7 personal days per year (may be carried over into the following year but must be used by December 31 of that year). Holidays: 10 paid holidays annually. Supervisory and Non-Union Classification Justification: This position is classified as Non-Union based on the following exemptions under applicable labor law: Managerial Exclusion: The Associate Director has hiring, supervision, evaluation, and discipline authority over multiple staff roles and provides strategic direction in operational planning. Supervisory Exclusion: The position includes direct supervision of staff and vendors, assignment of work, and oversight of work quality and performance.
