The Program Director develops, organizes, and implements high-quality YMCA programs. They are responsible for monitoring and developing budgets, marketing strategies, and ensuring staff are hired and trained in accordance with Channel Islands YMCA expectations. Responsibilities/Duties : Accountable for financial development including budgeting and meeting growth expectations Management of financial controls including registration processing, implementation of accounting best practices, administration of grants and contracts, working with vendors, management of accounts receivable and payable, processing scholarships, and control of department wages Develop and implement marketing plans for department growth (especially grass-roots). Work with the Marketing Department on collateral development and brand maintenance Ensure compliance with established procedures, policies, and standards related to health and safety. Complete routine risk assessments and correct deficiencies. Report incidents promptly. Be a member of the branch safety team and act as a first responder to emergency situations Supervise staff including hiring, scheduling, enforcing expectations, ensuring compliance with standards, coordinating with Human Resources, maintaining regular communication, and modeling best practices Provide growth and development opportunities for staff including goal setting, annual evaluations, coaching, and training plans Ensure program quality as per association standards, including character education and HEPA standards, as evidenced by surveys, observations, and audits Manage programs by developing proposals, implementing offerings, evaluating data, and communicating results Lead an annual campaign team to meet volunteer and financial goals, and support branch fundraising events Work with volunteers by recruiting, screening, training, and evaluating Oversee branch environment, serve as manager on duty, enforce membership expectations, promote cross-marketing, and collaborate on branch goals Contribute to the association resource team to grow business and improve quality Provide exceptional customer service and foster member connections Understand and act as a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse, reporting and responding per policies Perform all responsibilities ethically and professionally Implement YMCA core values and support strategic initiatives Report concerns through proper channels Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old Bachelor's degree in a related field; related work experience may offset degree requirement Childcare Program Director must meet Site Supervisor requirements Aquatics Program Director must meet Lifeguard requirements At least 2 years of relevant work experience Complete required certifications within 30 days of hire Complete all branch and position-specific trainings within two weeks of hire Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance Ability to participate in the DMV Pull Program
