Overview 2026 - Food Service Director - ROCKSTAR for SUMMER 2026 (Seasonal Relocation Job is not Local) Wolfoods operates summer camp kitchens across the country between May - September. We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and capable Food Service Operations Directors. This is a hands-on, demanding position with on-site living for the contract term. Lead staff live on site at the job location with room, board, and travel expense assistance provided. The role requires flawless execution of the Wolfoods Camp Food Service Program, knowledge of food allergens, and the ability to create dishes for various dietary restrictions. The position requires strong planning, recipe execution, strict sanitation to prevent cross contamination, and the ability to manage the service and culinary needs of the assigned camp. You will maintain clean and comfortable surroundings in a fast-paced environment, ensuring correct service timing, food quantity, and quality for all meals and special requests. Effective communication with children, exchange students, staff, directors, managers, counselors, leaders, specialists, and diners is essential. A keen sense of urgency and a professional, courteous approach are required to answer all Service & Culinary questions in line with Wolfoods Standards of Service Guidelines. Responsibilities Perform duties toward providing excellent guest service efficiently Develop effective staff schedules based on business levels and budget guidelines Schedule and coordinate all side work for personnel Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Dining Hall according to sanitation standards Maintain appearance and uniform standards Be present on the floor during meal periods to monitor dining hall operations Work with the chef on duty to maintain high standards of food presentation and sanitation Train and develop all FOH dining personnel Provide ongoing feedback to service personnel on standards and performance Communicate with the Head Chef and Camp Directors daily about dining hall operations Interact with diners for general feedback Ensure the dining hall is open and prepared 15 minutes prior to service Implement a checklist system to facilitate dining hall operations Follow Wolfoods environmental initiatives to minimize waste and conserve resources Be knowledgeable of all menus and specifications Maintain constant follow-up with dining hall standards Follow safety practices to minimize risk Provide daily reporting Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors Motivate and foster a positive work environment Attend related in-service training and staff meetings Understand food safety as it relates to special diets and allergies Interact professionally with campers, staff, and parents Control inventory and place orders Project management and cross-utilization planning Uphold Wolfoods standards of service and quality Maintain Health Department sanitation standards Manage staff and client relations Follow the Wolfoods Camp Food Training Program Use weights and measures for recipes Prepare all menu items and special events; follow standardized recipes Ensure production timing, quantity, quality, and plating accuracy Lead planning, scheduling, directing, and training Plan for cross-utilization and efficient production Estimate production needs, establish par levels, and maintain inventory Place accurate food orders in advance Ensure kitchen and equipment meet health standards Teach and enforce safety regulations Specialized food preparation for events Assist in recipe development and menu planning Recommend equipment purchases May act as a Front of House supervisor when necessary Qualifications & Experience 4+ years commercial kitchen experience in a lead role Minimum three professional references required with application submission Proficient in relevant skills for the role Quality-driven and self-motivated High-level computer literacy Uphold Health Department standards Able to lead a team and take direction Minimum 6-day workweek, 70 hours Must live on-site in a rural setting (shared living spaces may be required) Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods ServSafe Manager Certification required ServSafe Allergens Certification required before camp start (company sponsored) Ability to work under temperature extremes Ability to cook from scratch Institutional and batch cooking experience is highly desired Ideal Candidates Looking for seasonal, summer opportunities Enjoy high-volume production kitchen and dining facility environments Embrace a teaching and learning culture Are excited to be part of a team and community Are available to relocate for the summer season in a rustic living environment Employment Package Includes Competitive pay Bonus system Room and board Transportation expense assistance Seasonal summer contracts About Wolfoods WOLfoods breaks away from the standard approach to camp food by offering home-style scratch cooking and by partnering with camps committed to healthy, fresh, and delicious foods.
