Youth & Teen Center Drop In Director

FLSA: Full-Time, Exempt
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations for Youth Development, the Youth & Teen Center Director is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of the Youth Center and Teen Center enrichment and drop-in programs. This role directly oversees staffing, scheduling, program planning, and community partnerships to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth and teens. This position is critical to fostering relationships with families, ensuring program quality, and positioning the YMCA as a leading resource for youth and teen development in Lynn, all while embodying the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all Youth Center and Teen Center programming, including: School-year after school drop-in program/center
Summer youth center program
Teen Drop-In Center activities
Plans and executes a monthly family engagement event and monthly teen event to build community and strengthen relationships. This is in collaboration with our Youth & Families Director.
Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates program staff and volunteers.
Develops and maintains staff schedules, ensuring adequate supervision and program coverage.
Ensures program environments are safe, organized, and align with YMCA standards.
Builds positive relationships with youth, teens, and families to promote consistent participation and engagement.
Collaborates with local schools, community organizations, and YMCA departments to enhance program offerings.
Oversees all program administration, including attendance tracking, incident reporting, staff timecard approvals, and supply management.
Communicates effectively with parents/guardians regarding program updates, expectations, and youth development progress.
Ensures adherence to YMCA policies, safety standards, and child protection protocols.
Supports YMCA fundraising efforts, including active participation in the Annual Campaign.
Partners with the Lynn YMCA Leadership Team to promote and expand youth and teen engagement strategies.
Participates in the branch's weekly Manager on Duty (MOD) shift rotation, serving as an on-site leader to ensure a positive member experience.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations for Youth Development or Lynn YMCA Campus Leadership.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, human services, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth and teen program management and staff supervision.
Proven experience managing youth programs.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Must pass CORI, SORI, and fingerprint background checks.
Completion of First Aid and CPR certifications within 30 days of hire.
Completion of Online Safety Trainings within 30 days of hire.
