Establish a reputation for excellence in marketing through creative and effective leadership.
Create compelling campaigns to promote and build awareness of WDAV content and programming.
Oversee the creation and distribution of WDAV newsletters to keep listeners and donors informed about station programs, events, and updates.
Manage social media strategy for WDAV to engage with listeners and increase brand awareness.
Oversee the design and production of graphics for WDAV print and online materials.
Strengthen WDAV’s position as an arts organization by cultivating relationships with local arts partners.
Adhere to best practices in marketing through ongoing education and training in current marketing strategies.
Improve marketing strategies by following marketing trends and maintaining an awareness of the marketing strategies of other. public media organizations, non-profits, and arts organizations.
Provide guidance to Marketing and Digital Communications Specialist to ensure effective workflow in the department
Use analytics tools to measure effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
Establish and steward partnerships with organizations that raise the profile of WDAV in the region and/or advance WDAV’s mission.
Provide an excellent experience to listeners, donors, and community partners by planning and executing promotional and community events and activities that align with the WDAV mission.
Support WDAV operating goals through effective promotion of the WDAV brand for both terrestrial and streaming listeners.
Develop positive relationships with cross-campus partners to elevate WDAV’s profile at Davidson College.
Inspire confidence in colleagues, donors, and others) by investing time into becoming a subject matter expert in necessary marketing strategies, including the effective use of digital media, for WDAV.
Contribute to the collaborative culture of WDAV by enthusiastically offering ideas, time, and support to other WDAV colleagues, including participation in on-air campaigns and other team events.
Demonstrable experience in interacting positively and professionally with colleagues and guests.
Ability to parse, process, digitize, analyze, and extract data using tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and/or other systems.
Experience managing a variety of social media platforms, including the ability to engage with these platforms with a high degree of creativity and professionalism.
Positive attitude and collaborative mindset, in keeping with the culture of WDAV.
Inclination toward seeking clarity and creating an atmosphere of mutual benefit and understanding.
Eagerness to contribute to a mission-driven organization that fosters excellence, community-mindedness, and radical inclusion.
Ability to work some evenings and holidays when there are major events and/or campaigns.
Intrinsic motivation to perform job functions with excellence to grow personally and professionally and to create the best possible outcomes for WDAV.
Adaptable/flexible personality that demonstrates an ability to prioritize well and re-prioritize, if necessary.
Inclination toward noticing when a business practice or process could be improved and confidence to share those observations and offer potential solutions.
Innovative problem-solving skills and a high degree of self-motivation.
Marketing experience strongly preferred.
Public Radio or non-profit experience strongly preferred.
Some knowledge and appreciation of classical music preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
