The research site personnel interact with multiple company representatives supporting ViiV studies, requiring coordination by field-based medical affairs teams. The US Medical Affairs Scientific Director, Research will coordinate Medical Affairs activities related to clinical trial support, act as a conduit for investigators and research sites, resolve conflicts, and facilitate research initiatives such as implementation science and RWE studies. Key responsibilities include: Coordinate deployment of field MSLs and medical staff for clinical development activities. Facilitate collaborative research and implementation science projects. Establish a single point of contact for external investigators and sites. Champion resolution of researcher and site concerns. Identify cross-functional solutions to recurrent challenges. Provide insights to enhance protocol development. Qualifications: Required: PharmD, MD, PhD, MPH with 5+ years in healthcare or pharma. Experience in a customer-facing medical affairs role. Matrix management experience. Experience in clinical trials coordination. Knowledge of legal and ethical issues in clinical trials. Certification/experience in HIV management (e.g., AAHIVE). Preferred: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and organize workload. Flexibility and sensitivity to urgent issues. Self-motivated with proactive work ethic. Excellent presentation and consulting skills. Experience leading cross-functional teams. Understanding of GCP and human subject protection.
