What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide technical expertise to support profitable underwriting frameworks across business segments
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and best practices for various product lines
- Analyze profitability trends and proactively identify risks and opportunities within the middle market segment
- Collaborate with corporate underwriting to refine guidance and ensure compliance with risk appetite
- Lead initiatives to enhance underwriting training and technical capabilities across the organization
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Insurance, or related field
- 10 - 15+ years of underwriting experience with a strong understanding of the underwriting process and risk assessment
- Proven knowledge of ISO property/casualty products and insurance company operations
- Experience in strategic planning and execution to drive underwriting performance
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-departmentally
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Professional certifications such as CPCU, AIAF, or similar underwriting and insurance-related certifications
- Project Management Certifications (e.g., PMP) to manage cross-functional initiatives effectively
- Previous experience in senior underwriting roles such as Underwriting Consultant or Underwriting Director
