The Safety Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across the organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs that adhere to regulatory standards and promote a culture of safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff to foster a proactive approach to workplace safety.
*Duties*
* Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
* Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Perform root cause analysis for incidents and accidents, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
* Create detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance activities for management review.
* Design and deliver training programs on safety practices, emergency response, first aid, CPR, and workers' compensation law.
* Collaborate with various departments to promote Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives throughout the organization.
* Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance efforts.
* Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to workplace safety.
* Strong background in Logistics and Trucking companies compliance needs.
* Familiar with DMV registering, FMCSA experience, IFTA and HUT.
* Background in ELD's and communication with Drivers.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
* Proven experience in a safety management role with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and EHS principles.
* Skills in report writing and training development are essential for effective communication of safety protocols.
* Knowledge of workers' compensation law is beneficial for managing claims effectively.
* Ability to fabricate solutions to improve workplace safety conditions as needed.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough investigations into incidents.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $96,387.00 - $110,484.00 per year
