Overview Travel - Interim Director of Nursing - Long Term Care at Good Samaritan. This is a temporary leadership role in nursing for long term care facilities requiring frequent travel. Location and Schedule Facility: Remote ND (Central Time) Location: Remote, ND Shift: Day Job Schedule: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 Responsibilities Provides temporary nursing facility leadership and support. Administers the nursing program in a long term care facility to maintain standards of resident care. Facilitates the optimization of the geriatric care process to improve the quality and efficiency of service. Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the organization’s nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies. Requires frequent travel to facilities. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Monitors the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews. Provides nursing care to residents on an as needed basis. Assists in the development and implementation of marketing activities/programs inclusive of community activities, special events and media activities. Manages day-to-day operations of the long term care facility, including quality of resident care, program/care management, environmental safety, budget considerations, and regulatory compliance. Delegates and coordinates clinical, operational, and managerial activities to accomplish department objectives; directs the work of individuals or teams. Leads development and execution of clinical programs, policies, procedures, and protocols ensuring system integration and adherence across the organization. Maintains communication and adapts to changes in the healthcare environment to support delivery of clinical services. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA). Five years of nursing experience required. Housing with Services, HUD, and/or assisted living experience helpful. Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act, standards of nursing care, and management techniques. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs, and/or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications. For Rural Health Network facilities and Good Samaritan Society locations: leadership may consider an educational plan toward a Bachelor’s degree within five years of hire; equivalency based on facility size, rural market, and business need may be considered for current employees prior to new education requirements.
