Department Information
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
1. Works directly with the Senior Technical Directors to ensure all Audio, Visual, and Lighting needs are met for Major Events.
2. Backs up all other TDs when available
3. Assist with portable staging
4. Assist with Ross Video production equipment
5. Assist with lighting and rigging
6. Assist with Clear-Com intercom

Job Summary
Provides production and general audio-visual support for events in multiple buildings across Kennesaw State University. Partners with event staff and clients to ensure audio-visual needs and requirements are met. Serves event and classroom environments. Works directly with students, professors and other event staff to support events as required.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
1. Works directly with clients to plan events and produces creative solutions to make their events successful
2. Responsible for supervision of technical operations for assigned event AV operations
3. Responsible for design and set-up of AV/Production equipment and gear prior to event and tear-down proceeding each event as needed by requestor
4. Responsible for events and operation of KSU campus event spaces using audio visual equipment
5. Oversees various events, small meeting, student lead events, conferences and expos.
6. Maintains equipment inventory, keeping items up to date and making necessary repairs or replacements
7. Ensures proper set-up of equipment per clients expectation and guidelines
8. Provides quotes, tracks, and invoices events in EMS (Event Management System) and ensures all information is correct and events are produced to specification requested
9. Assists other Technical Directors across campus when events require additional support
10. Manages assigned staff, students, contractors and other Technical Directors as required to fill additional needs for larger or multiple simultaneous events
11.Works directly with partner production company to quote additional resources for events
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
Two (2) years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PC and Macintosh operating system is necessary
Experience with web-conferencing is ideal
Preferred Educational Qualifications
A technical, undergraduate, or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Able to compile, communicate and provide event quotes and invoices
Able to piece together simple sound system, making it work
Able to manage events in all circumstances and conditions
Able to exhibit flexibility and handle last minute requests or changes
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of video and audio systems for classrooms as well as large events
Knowledge of EMS (Event Management System)
General knowledge of audio
Knowledge of video projection systems
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
