Job Overview
Private Client Services at BDO is a boutique practice specializing in serving high net-worth individuals, their families, family offices, C-Suite executives, athletes, entertainers, and others with complex tax and financial structures. Our expertise spans estate, income, gift, trust tax consulting and compliance; charitable giving and foundations; executive compensation; and financial planning including cash-flow, retirement, and life insurance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead tax and consulting engagements, mentoring team members to identify and address client needs and opportunities.
Serve as the primary client contact, presenting issues and solutions with executive presence.
Review complex tax returns across various entities and provide feedback.
Manage communications with government agencies on complex matters.
Conduct advanced tax research, identify issues, and develop recommendations.
Enhance technical knowledge through client engagements and industry developments.
Prioritize and review work to ensure timely delivery.
Utilize analytical and decision-making skills to assist clients with individual and business decisions.
Contribute to firm initiatives including billing, recruiting, and training.
Build and maintain professional relationships internally and externally.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise associates, senior associates, and managers as needed.
Review work and provide performance feedback.
Act as a career mentor and manage workload distribution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master’s preferred.
10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or law, with private client expertise.
Supervisory experience required.
CPA, EA, Attorney, or equivalent credential required.
Technical Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with tax software and research tools preferred.
Strong communication, leadership, technical, and business development skills.
